Simple storytelling, slow food
Continuously impressed by the New York Times’ multimedia pieces and food coverage, I am moved by the simple and poignant storytelling of artist Maira Kalman’s “And the Pursuit of Happiness” blog on nytimes.com. This particular entry, “Back to the Land,” details a journey through Kalman’s consciousness as she speaks to U.S. farmers, foodies, elementary students and even Michael Pollan about slow food and its place in American society. Find it here. I’ve included a couple of my favorite visuals from the piece below. Hope everyone had a happy, gluttonous Thanksgiving.
